Through My Back Door, Life is Happening

Hello everyone and it is wonderful to have you visit Through My Back Door again. Life has been happening here, but the coffee is on and guess what. We are having Kona. Found it at Marshalls in Destin and so here we go again. I am so happy to visit with you all, as I have missed you. When I last posted I requested prayer for Beth, Ryan, and baby Amelia. Well she came into the world last Saturday weighing all of 2 pounds 12 ounces and 14 inches long.
I as well as my family appreciate your prayers. We would love for you to continue as she will be in the NICU for a while.(I believe she knows that is her daddy, don't you?)
We were all supposed to leave for Seagrove on Friday, but Deb and Michael had to go to Illinois. Dodd, Renda and I went on to the beach, as there was nothing we could do there.(They insisted we go on). You can imagine all the phone calls and texts that day.
The weather was wonderful. Hot, but a good breeze. The beach wasn't really crowded, just pleasant. It was a good time for healing and resting.
We ate lots of seafood and did a bit of shopping. My big purchase was a new pair of walking shoes, at the insistence of Dodd.lol I guess I am going to start walking.
We ate several meals at my favorite place. A few new pictures to share.
A picture of my favorite meal. Shrimp, ff, hush puppies, and slaw. They also have the best sweet tea. I am sure you know by now it is Dewey Destins.lol
This is what you see when you pull in. You wouldn't think you would get such wonderful food, would you?
This is the best food and I just love it.
Of course we had Key Lime pie. Oh my, I enjoyed every bite and every pound.lol
Well I am home, until I go meet Amelia. I cannot wait to see her. (Her Mommy and Daddy too, of course)
Dasko is home from Doggy Camp and has slept all afternoon. It just wears him out, going  away.lol
Next weekend my niece is getting married. I just love weddings, don't you? As I said life is happening through my back door. There is so much going on, but I am grateful for family and friends.
I am going to leave you with some of my favorite things.
This old smoke house. Ramshackled, though it be.
This old coffee grinder holds special memories.
Gourd eggs from a fellow blogger.
A gift from my blog fairy. These things warm your heart when you see them. Thanks so much for coming Through My Back Door where life is good.
betty
PS: I have some neat pictures to share next post
PSS: With all the "happenings" I have not been a good blogger, but I will try to do better.(The key word being "TRY")
PSSS: My wish is for each of you to have a wonderful summer. Enjoy the time you spend with friends and loved ones, and remember, my philosophy, "ONLY have the things you love around and that includes people."

  8. Hey Betty -

I have been meaning to comment and say hey, but things have been crazy (in a good way!) Glad you had a good time in Destin. I can't WAIT until our family starts doing something like that every year! I know it will be easier when kids are a little older, but I too LOVE hanging out at the beach, and then eating some DELICIOUS seafood!

Baby Amelia is just PRECIOUS! That picture of her and Ryan is just adorable. We will continue to remember her in our prayers. Isn't God amazing..what a beautiful little gift...God knew she just needed to come out a little early, huh! Can't wait to see you all sometime soon, and look forward to seeing more pictures of that adorable great-granddaughter of yours soon!
