A Mixed Up Post; Just Like The Weather

Good morning everyone and welcome Through My Back Door. The only way you can get in today is this way. I can't get out, but the coffee is on and you are welcome to some Orange Cranberry muffins. They are quite tasty.
This is the view from my back door.
This is the view from the front. I am ready for some warmer weather just after a week of this. I can't imagine how my New England friends feel. I truly can't.
We had a bad ice storm Monday and below freezing temperatures the rest of the week. I spent the first of the week at Debs. They have gas and had heat if the power went off. We were blessed to keep our power. They brought me home on Friday(my car is still at their house) and I am stranded. Clay has a new FourRunner with four wheel drive and they came got me yesterday afternoon to go eat lunch at Debs. It was awful. He couldn't get up my driveway and my road is still horrible. Anyway enough of the rant.
This morning I have removed all three of my snowmen and put away my favorite picture with snow. I am thinking SPRING!!!! I can't do much until I see if the remodel is going to be started. But I can do living room and bedroom. Remember last week my back door was to be demolished and a new one put in. The weather stopped it. It is going to be fun getting out some of my bunnies. I don't do a lot but love the little bunnies and some of my other spring stuff.
Will change these winter berries to something more springy. I love my little door box.
This will come off and the blue quilt will go on. I am thinking I am going to get a blue and white coverlet for a change. I will use this one in the winter, but for spring and summer, I am thinking of the coverelet. FHW makes a pretty one for summer.
On one of the FB decorating sites I am on, a lady is trying to decide to use a tall table as coffee table. I really like mine. It works for me. I hope she will decide to give it a try. People can be a bit rude sometimes on these sites. However, I find I am on them almost everyday looking and ooohing and aaahing.
Well I just wanted to see if you all are okay and let you know that Spring is coming Through My Back Door where life is good. (Whether the weather cooperates or not)

PS:  Stay warm and I hope Spring is coming where you are too

Remembering the Hen

Good morning and welcome Through My Back Door. Help yourself to some coffee, still Cracker Barrel, and I am sorry there is nothing sweet. Yesterday I felt I needed, uhmmm, wanted something sweet so I baked a couple of biscuits and had some apple butter on them. I am glad to see you today. It is so cold, I stayed in and didn't go to church. Sometimes you just have to do that.
As I sat here this morning and looked around my little house, I had an overwhelming nostalgia for the Speckled Hen. Sharon ran that shop for years and carried the most wonderful things. I have so much that came from there. All of my FHW things(and there are a lot of them), all my upholstered pieces. and so many of my decorative things. I will share a few. All of my lighting
There are many more little "lights". I got most of my redware there.
My favorite farriers box.

Aren't these just the most delightful things? I miss the Hen, but I guess it is good I can't buy anything else, because there is just no room. Well I have had a delightful time remembering the Hen today. I will share more. More you say, how can there be anymore, well there is.lol I miss you too when you don't come Through My Back Door where life is good.
betty
PS: You can find her on FB and she is in a few malls.
PSS: I hope and pray we all stay warm and safe as this appears to be a very cold week ahead
PSSS: Continue to watch for the goings on Through My Back Door, as the weather permits

Happy Hearts To You

good morning and welcome Through My Back Door. The coffee is on and yes,it is Cracker Barrel, and there is apple pie. A lot has been going on Through My Back Door and a lot more is going to go on. We have sure enjoyed Debs birthday. I think I gained weight on her celebrations. Thank you for all the birthday wishes. She loved it.
As you know I play dominoes every week and last week was my week to host. We had brunch, which some probably liked and others didn't. I actually won one game that day.lol I truly enjoy playing dominoes and would play more often if I had someone to play with.
On Friday I had my friends  Dennis and Susie to supper. I don't get to see them much anymore and it was nice to sit and visit and just catch up. Yes, where Susie is there is always some laughs. I don't have to put on aires for them, so it is just nice to eat and visit.
Saturday was a birthday party for little Blake Woods. Blakes mama and Clay are brother and sister and her children feel like my grands too. Maleia always has the best ideas and does the cutest things. She has an ETSY shop and one day I will get her link on here. You will love her work.
Sunday we did Deb's birthday dinner at Beth and Ryan's.
Last night my cousin Dale was here from Michigan. So Gina, his sister, invited us to meet them for dinner at one of our favorite places, Littons.  All of Gina's children, Deb, Michael and I went. Gina's husband Allen couldn't make it, but we all had a great time. Dale is so funny and we laughed so much, I wondered if people were either going to ask us to leave or want to join us. When Gina, Deb and I are together it is just constant laughs. What fun we had. Dale has a blog, Dale Peterson . Gina is the cousin who hosted the Aunts Birthday back in September, if you remember me sharing that.
So you see I have been busy. Well Saturday is Valentine Day and I want to share a few hearts. I know you have seen them before but some new readers may not.
This little "Outside my backdoor" was supposed to say Through My Back Door, but my friend Fran got confused.lol I like it anyway.

Well Happy Hearts to you and it makes my heart happy when you come Through My Back Door where life is good.

Happy Birthday Deb

Well good morning and welcome Through My Back Door. It is a glorious day because my only daughter was born on this day. I won't say how many years ago.lol She is such a blessing to not only me but to all who know her.  Her Daddy idolized her. She has been such a joy to all of us, all of her life.

She loves God and her family. She is not only beautiful, she is talented, generous, kind, and loving. I am so proud to call her my daughter. I think of Proverbs 31:28
Through these last two in for a smile. Thank you for allowing me to share her birthday and Thank you for coming Through My Back Door where life is good.
