Doesn't Take Much

Good afternoon, I am so happy to see you. Hope you aren't disappointed, but we are having hot mulled cider this afternoon. We have to drink this up, as it is left over from dominoes Thursday.lol Not that I am serving you left overs! Oops, I really am. Actually the longer it sets the better it gets, in my opinion. I am happy to have you stop by, as it has been a beautiful day here in East Tn, and I have truly enjoyed it. Like the title of this post it doesn't take much to make me happy. How about you? Give me sunshine or rain and I am contented. A little snow now and again too. I have been home all day. Was going to go to a Games Extravaganza at church, but I have been gone every day for 10 days and needed a stay at home day. Dasko was so happy and has not moved from my side all day. I have gotten a lot done.
Took all the valentine stuff and put it away. I have a bit of spring here and there. Too early for a lot of bunnies, but I have a few out.
I have such a hard time with my mantle. I never get the exact "look" I want. That is okay though, it gives me something to work on.lol
My one little peep!Poor thing, it is probably lonely.
Like the gourd eggs from the Bama Planter. This little bunny was a gift from a friend, years ago.
Deb made this little fellow.
Boo is pretending it is spring. Her tail was like that when we found her. The vet thinks she "came" that way. She is mellowing as she ages. I guess we all do. Like I said, it doesn't take much to make me happy, just a few spring touches here and there.
Everyone who blogs, knows how much fun it is to meet fellow bloggers. Angela Phillips, Thru Nana's Window, Her daughter Holly,Hollies Hobbies and Darbees Days, and her granddaughter Darbee Rae came to Pigeon Forge this past week. Angela and I got acquainted over Debs red fireplace wall. We got to be friends as we realized how much we had in common. In November they came to The Hens Christmas open house, but we didn't have a lot of visiting time. Well they came to the Hen yesterday and we along with Deb went out to supper. We went to a local place called Golden Girls. They have down home country cooking at a reasonable price. We had the best visit. Deb hadn't met them but it didn't take long. Darbee Rae is four going on 25 and fit in quite well.lol She truly is a sweetheart and you just fall in love with her. Everyone was talking to her or about her last night at supper. Next visit we have to have a Darbee/Andrew play time. Anyway you can get on Angela's blog on my sidebar and from there to Hollys. Check both of them out and tell them I sent you.
What does it take to make you happy? We all know things isn't what makes us happy, but we are happy when surrounded with things and people we love. I hope you enjoyed our visit today with left over cider, Through My Back Door where life is good.

PS: If there is something you can do to make someone happy, please do it. Remember it doesn't take much.
PSS:Several of you have commented on my new blog header. This was done by Prim Doodles, whose button is way down on my side bar. Go check her out, would you?
PSSS: Amanda has had a hard week after that "less harsh" chemo. She gets another one this Wednesday. Will you please continue to pray? We thank you in advance.

  6. Betty, I will certainly include Amanda in my prayers. When I was going through chemo, I just kept saying that the current treatment was one more behind me. It is really hard, many people don't KNOW how hard, but it WILL be over. I started getting better when I finally turned myself over to the doctors completely and let my husband take control of the kids and house. I focused on wellness--after all, my family needed me to be well for THEM to be well. She and her family will be in my prayers.-hugs, Jan

  7. Just got in an hour or so ago. Yes, did more shopping this morning before finally heading home. We enjoyed dinner so much and were thrilled to get to meet Deb. I bet Darbee Rae asked a dozen times on the way home,"Wonder what Betty Crowe Crowe is doing today?" Will have to tell her you stayed home and played with Dasko. Love your touches of Spring. I can't wait to put out the new bunnies I got on this trip. Enjoyed the cider but can't wait to have a piece of cake and a cup of good coffee.
    Hugs
    Angela

  11. Betty: How fun you got to meet some more fellow bloggers and had such a good time. I am actually going to a class for Bloggers at a cute shop n March 1 where we will share ideas, how-to's and more. I can't wait.
I love your Boo and Dasko...I should have a real pet but have to be happy sharing one with Mr. S.O. who lives across the street. So it makes me happy that "MY" cat has two homes and can choose where he wants to crash!
Have a great weekend. Prayers being sent for Amanda.

  14. Hi Betty, I don't drink coffee and I love cider so I am quite content. Love your spring touches. How fun to get to meet more blogging friends - sounds like a great day. It doesn't take much to make me happy either - I am happiest when I am spending time with my family. We will continue to keep Amanda in prayer.

  15. Dear Betty,
I have written you 3 comments and I couldn't get any of them to go through. Your word verification won't let me type so I can't publish a comment. I keep trying because I want you to know that I am praying for Amanda. Give her my love and tell her I am sorry she is having such a hard go of it. Your home is always lovely. I enjoy the pictures you post. I hope I can make the comments work this time. Hugs, Lura

  16. I am content with rain or sunshine or snow too. Just love all the different elements of the seasons.

I look around at my Valentines and think that I need to put it away and pull out a few bunnies but I just sit and stitch or sew instead, lol. Need to get on that!

My mantel is always the hardest for me to decorate. I get so frustrated with it. This year I left out a greenery garland with lights and added some vintage valentines and I absolutely love it! So I bought a pretty spring flower garland and going to put it on my mantel with a string of white lights, hope I love it too. We shall see. I love all of your spring touches, everything looks wonderful Betty!

How fun to meet Angela, Holly, and Darbee Rae! They are sweet ladies so I'm sure the little lady is very sweet also.

    Praying for Amanda~
