Let's SPICE it up with Mustard

Good Wednesday morning everyone. Since it is so cold here in East Tn I thought what a good day for you to come Through My Back Door. You know I love having you and again help yourself to the coffee and let's just sit and visit.
Today I thought I would share my favorite Mustards. I fell in love with mustard a long time ago and everything that could be painted mustard was.! It was a big joke and do you know what? Those who laughed are now using mustard. I won't call any names, but one had a birthday last week!
There are some who think mustard is drab, but not me. It makes me smile. It is one color besides red, that I just love. So here are some mustard things in my house.

All my curtains and most of my lamp shades are flax linen from Ginny Currys antiques. I just love the look of them. They are so prim.
Shower curtain, towel and throw pillows are all the flax linen.

All of these pieces were built by my son-in-law and painted by Deb. I have enjoyed them all, but especially that HUGE entertainment center.

I love mustard candle sticks. You can't have too many. These are just a few.
Just some random mustard items through out the house.

All the trim in this little house is painted mustard.
Last but certainly  not least are my mustard dishes(On a mustard placemat, with a mustard napkin no less)lol. These dishes were a birthday gift a few birthdays ago from my granddaughter, Amanda. (yes Andrew and Mollies mama). They are truly the gift that has gone on giving! do you see my cat eating on the blanket chest? I just saw that.lol
I hope you have enjoyed the mustard today. I believe strongly, that you should only have things and people around you that you love. I also think you should do the what you love. So today I love that you came Through My Back Door where life is good.

  4. Wow! I just love all your mustard, and I
haven't really been a fan of that color! My walls are kind of a "light mustard"..They were painted that color, before we moved in..All the trim is white, so I was thinking on painting the trim a golden brown color to go with it. I love your home, it is so warm and inviting and all your furniture is just beautiful! Thanks for inviting us in thru your back door, I enjoyed the visit!

  5. Betty again, such lovely and wonderful pieces. Your home is beautiful and so warm and welcoming. Your home needs to be in Country Sampler or The new Primitive Place magazine. I love red and Mustard too, even though I cannot put a handle on what my decorating style is....prim, country farmhouse, french farmhouse, shabby chic.. I like it all....love yours! Blessings!

  6. OMGoodness Betty, you've done it again! Just when I thought I couldn't drool any more I had to grab the Viva's! Mustard is an absolute favorite of mine too and you have sooo much! And you lucky girl....to have a SIL and daughter to make those wonderful things for you! You never cease to amaze me how you can go through your home focusing on certain colors and bring them all out! It honestly looks like you've freshly painted and redecorated in those colors! You're awesome and I wished I had the talent in just one of your pinky fingers! Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful home and talent with us GF!

  22. Betty, Thanks for the visit, I too love mustards, but hubs calls me the queen of tan....
The hall way is up and down, closets, beds and baths doors. My home is not too big just about 2100 sq ft. Large by 1970 standards, but by today a mere shoe box, but we love it.
I love some of your peices and I love mustard, but it does so remind me of the harvest gold I started with.
