Hello December

Good morning and welcome Through My Back Door on this first day of the last month of the year. I can hardly believe it is almost Christmas.Where has the year gone? I have had a good year and am truly thankful for it. I have met some new friends and taken several trips. We will save those for another post. Today I just want to welcome December with a cup of White Christmas coffee and some sugar cookies..We can sit in the living room and just visit.
It has been raining here for three days and I am sitting in a chair with a heating pad on my shoulder most of the time. I am eating too much and drinking too much coffee, but that is what it is. I will share a few Christmas pictures today and post another post real soon.
some of the Christmas books in a basket. Others are here and there as I love having them out.
As you know this is one of my all time favorites. I also like the sequel, A Memory of A Cup of Christmas Tea.
I love this one. I can still hear the bell. Can you?
Well I am so happy you came Through My Back Door where life is good.
PS My friend Al's son Matt is having open heart surgery today. Will you pray?
PSS: Also please pray for those who can't come home for Christmas this year. Some mama's are deployed, some daddies, and always someones child
PSSS:I hope you enjoy every day between now and Christmas. I am giving myself a gift a day on my FB page. Will you join me?

  1. Hi Betty! I'm so sorry to hear you are a bit down and out, but glad you are taking care of yourself. I like to put out my old Christmas books each too. I even have the same Hallmark Polar Express Santa as you and put him in a chair with a book each year as well. Hope you are on the mend soon! Jane

  2. Betty, hope your shoulder is better. Missed you eating out with us last Saturday night but really enjoyed the Fantasy Tree event with you on Friday. Love spending time with you all.

  3. Oh Betty, so sorry to hear about your shoulder, sending well wishes. Love putting out Christmas books too.Blessings Francine.

  4. Sweet post Betty :0). It has been raining a lot here in Oklahoma for this time of year as well. I too have been on ice or heating pad for days on / off too! So I sympathize! Always enjoy your posts! Be blessed today ~ Marge ~

  5. I have been sitting with a heat pad on my back during these cold frosty days..we had lots of rain too. My daughters basement had some water in it.. I always love your house at Christmas time.. you do such a wonderful job making a simple homey Christmas.. Makes me want to sit with you read and drink tea or coffee or hot chocolate..I hope your Sunday has been great! Blessings!

  6. Hi Betty, I found your blog over at Bama Antiques. I'm always looking for blogs with non painted and non distressed antiques. :) Yours is quite lovely, I am your newest follower.
I see a basket of blown glass eggs, I have a collection of all sizes of painted ones. They are a lot of fun.
    Have a great day!
