Hello and welcome Through My Back Door. This has been a wonderful week here, and not just weather wise. Although that too. Get a cup of coffee and let me tell you about my week. For a while I have been having some "attacks" for lack of a better word. (While it is wonderful having a doctor in the family, it gets me to see mine, more than I care too.)lol When Beth says, go I go. The last "attack" she said go and I did to the ER. A CT scan showed colitis, so a test was ordered. When the test was done,(2 weeks and a strong antibiotics, later) it showed nothing! NOTHING! It had healed, so see why I say, it has been a good week. I spent Monday afternoon at the pool with Deb, Amanda, and the kids. That always makes a good time. Tuesday we had cards, and today was the "mini" reunion. All of us ran with a group in high school, that were special. There were 5 of us that graduated together and we all had so much fun and spent a lot of time together. You know the drift, ball games, slumber parties, proms. just plain old fun. Although we stayed close in proximity, except for Doris, we went different ways. Fast forward a few years ago and we reconnected. First Alice and I, then Patsy retired, and she joined us. Kathleen lost her husband a bit ago, and she joined us. So we have been getting together every month. What a blessing it has been. The icing on the cake today was, Doris was here from Pa. and she got together with us. We went to Lulu's Tea Room. This is in an old house and the food is delicious.
This is Dena,AKA Lulu. She is the perfect person for this as her personality just bubbles.
She treats everyone as you are special guest in her home.
This is the room, they so graciously gave us upstairs, where we could laugh as much as we wanted and not disturb the other guests.
Our table.
Here we are looking at pictures some of us brought. These reminded us of our clothes and couldn't believe how short our shorts were! (and tight) Oh goodness. Oh yes those crinolines!
The whole group.
We got lots of "remember whens". and oh my I had a waist! (I think that was my statement)lol I don't know about the others, but I left there a happy person. Cannot wait until we do it again.
If you are in the Powell area and want a good place to eat, go to Lulu's. If it is Thursday or Friday I suggest you call for reservations. She is also on a local TV station, cooking sometimes.
Andrew started school yesterday. 1st grade. It doesn't seem possible.
Don't you like the shirt?lol
I am so happy you came Through My Back Door where life is good.
betty
PS: It is almost time for fall decorating. I am only going to have the things I "love" out.
PSS: Take time to day to do something nice for someone. don't let your joy stop with you. Share it.
PSSS: I will bring you an update on Tamra very soon. The prayers are so appreciated. You know just because the chemo is over, prayers are still needed.
Hello, dear!
ReplyDeleteI added Tamra to my prayer list. Prayers are always needed!
That is awesome that you get together with your high school friends! My mom does too. I guess they started a few years back. She lets me come along to lunch and tea shops with them. It is hilarious to hear their stories. Especially when they talk about the heart throbs in high school being bald and "plump" now. Oh, dear!
I just can't bring out the pumpkins yet. Not while the calendar says "August". Our friends are really fallifying early, aren't they?
I have been praying for you too, dear friend!
Have a wonderful evening!
Love and hugs,
Heather

ReplyDeleteHello Betty, I am so sorry...I thought I remember you saying you had diverticulitis. But it was colitis. Well, I made a mistake. But I am so happy to hear you are feeling so much better. So now you can get things back to normal. It is good that you had lunch with your high school buddies. What fun remembering all of the memories. I want to mention how handsome your Andrew is.
